The Government of South Sulawesi, Indonesia has decided to undertake a strategy of overhauling their public-school system. They have established a plan to upskill their teachers, upgrade their schools and their education system to industry best practice. They have committed to developing a Model Schools Program. Excelzia has been working with the Australian Consulate General in Makassar, and the Government of South Sulawesi, to develop education and training programs to facilitate this plan. Excelzia, working with their partners, the NSW Department of Education and access UTS, have developed the Teacher Professional Development Program.
On the 7th February 2017, The Honourable Syahrul Yasin Limpo, the Governor of South Sulawesi, attended a ceremonial signing of a Letter of Intent with Excelzia in Sydney. Excelzia, working with their partners, the NSW Department of Education and accessUTS, entered into an agreement to formalise the Teacher Professional Development Program. Excelzia will now enter a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of South Sulawesi to commence training the first group of teachers in Sydney in May 2017.
Following the signing, Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo accompanied Excelzia to visit South Sydney High School to see first-hand what the NSW Department of Education will be offering the teachers from South Sulawesi for their training. He was extremely impressed with the quality and professionalism of the school, its facilities and its staff.
Managing Director of Excelzia, Amanda Bowyer, said “This is a very important and significant occasion for both Excelzia, the Government of South Sulawesi and our partners the NSW Department of Education and accessUTS.
